If you were to ask me, “What is Vanguard?” I’m going to say, “They’re a dope duo out of Wales that are severing up some series beats.” Tom Morgan and James Thomas, the boys that make up Vanguard, are two twenty-year old students originating from the highlands of Wales. I’ve just recently started enjoying their music, but I’m making up for lost time. Their songs hit your ears and you immediately get a toe tapping, followed by a head bobbing, and eventually your busting a move on the city bus. Some series feel good bangers. They list quite a divers list of artists as their influences (from Daft Punk to SebastiAn) and it defiantly shows in the French-House, funk, deliciousness their stirring up.

I also really respect their clear desire to create their own unique sound. Too many songs pop up that are cookie-cutter copies of another artist’s sound (ie. the massive amounts of Skrilly-wannabies assaulting his music). Sure, you can get a hit by following someone else’s blueprints, but if you want to be successful in this business you need to be the architect, not the contraction worker.

The guys call their work, Welsh-House. Not sure if the sub-genra will stick around, but they defiantly will be. Peeps ‘em for yourself. Just a warning, you might Ear-jaculate when you listen to Morning Light.
