Pretty Lights – We Must Go On

One of the biggest names of 2011 and the master of the electro hip-hop movement is back at it in 2012.  Pretty Lights has just released his newest single, “We Must Go On” with an accompanying music video.  The song has such a smooth sound to it, with sweeping vocal samples and a soulful palate of sounds.  The addition of the self-made music video shows you that PL can manipulate media across multiple platforms.

Skrillex – Bangarang EP

As much as I love to hate Skrillex, he does put out some good tracks. He is also responsible for the explosion, commercialization and watering down of dubstep and heavy bass music as a whole, but now I just sound old and jaded. Bottomline – dude puts out huge tracks and knows how to appeal the heavy bass sound to the masses. He unexpectedly released a new EP today that is full of some classic Skrillex sounds. The release has 7 total tracks and features some big collabs with Wolfgang, 12th Planet, Kill The Noise, and even The Doors. Most of the tracks had already been leaked and blogged in some form or another – but now they are high quality and fully mastered. He renamed some of the tracks, but all the sounds are still intact.
